LARRY NICHOLAS 8.2K
The Larry Nicholas Trail Race is an 8.2KM cross-country route in Mission Creek Regional Park. This park is a wonderful retreat where you can transition from city to the trails in minutes.
Larry was an avid athlete with a love for running. His untimely passing while rock climbing in the mid-1980s has been celebrated every year since through this run that is sponsored by the Kelowna Running Club, but driven by his mother Donna Nicholas and their family.
Over the years, the KRC has donated the proceeds from this race to a scholarship fund established in Larry’s honour. The fund is now well established and the Nicholas family have encouraged us to donate the funds to other places where they are needed. Currently, we donate the proceeds to Kidsport Kelowna.
The Larry Nicholas Memorial Cross-Country Race has been a stalwart of the Kelowna Running Club and Interior Running Association cross country race series for over 35 years.
