The Kelowna Running Club will provide opportunities for the community to participate, recreate and be educated in the sport of running at whatever level they choose.
Our mission is to help bring the community of running to as many people as possible. We host multiple weekly runs, provide group coaching and continue to organize some of the longest standing races in Kelowna.
The first race of the Interior Running Association 2020 Road Series is the Starting Block 10km, run in Lavington - East of Vernon on Highway 6.
The race route is a gently rolling, out-and-back, partial loop through largely rural-residential agricultural landscape. The conditions are usually quite cold, with some ice/snow on the pavement. In 2018/19 the temperature was colder than -10C. Verify forecast conditions, a few days ahead of the race, so that you can bring appropriate race gear with you.
There will be one water station, which is passed at approx. 3km and again at approx. 8km. Washrooms will be available at the race registration location: Lavington Elementary School, with medical support also on site. Refreshments will be available after the race and awards and draw prizes will be presented.
You'll be welcome and all runs and races will become wonderful experiences.Join Us!
