Yakima Canyon River Marathon

Jun 2, 2019 by Igor

On March 30, 2019 a group of 11 women participated in Yakima River Marathon in Washington. The group stayed at Airbnb which was one of the main highlights of the trip. Runners were welcomed by the race directors Bob and Lenore Dolphin. A table was reserved for the runners at the pre-race pasta dinner.

Michelle Demmers won third in her age category and a couple of other girls got personal bests. The point to point marathon offered scenic views of the Canyon. Two major hills and an asphalt surface offered great opportunity to test runners abilities.

"The course was stunning, and very challenging. Complete with a 2km hill at km 37. We had beautiful weather, bordering on the hot side. Best aid stations, chalk full of all kinds of treats (candy, pretzels, baked goods...even hot dogs). The race director was there to hug everyone as they finished and give us all a rose. Hand down one of my favourite race experiences!" - says "Skye Kaidannek".
